The Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition is hosting a free workshop on how to get involved – and be effective – as an advocate for issues.
The “Somebody Should DO Something” Workshop
Free training on how you can be an effective advocate.
You’ve decided that the “somebody” who should take action is you, but you’re not sure how to go about it. The Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition will help answer your questions with a workshop designed to make you feel more at ease with the process of getting things done at the local level. You’ll learn how to find out about upcoming projects, at what points in the public decision-making process you can have the most influence, as well as how to address governmental bodies in ways that will have maximum impact. Find out from officials such as Santa Rosa City Councilperson, Susan Gorin and Santa Rosa Planning Commissioner, Vicki Duggan what they look for when hearing testimony from the public. This 3 hour workshop will be filled with practical information designed to improve your ability to make a difference.
When: Saturday, April 26, 2008
Where: Santa Rosa City Council Chambers, 100 Santa Rosa Ave.
When: 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Light refreshments will be served. No RSVP is necessary.
